Our Mission
Jimmy Barnes Memorial Fund was created to honor our son, James Randolph Barnes III, who brought light and love to anyone and everyone. We have two objectives: Jimmy’s Stocking Project and The Jimmy Barnes Memorial Scholarship.
Jimmy’s Stocking Project
Jimmy’s Stocking Project began in 2018 when we provided 8 “stockings” to a local long-term drug rehabilitation center. We are now able to provide over 90 stockings to the residents in long-term programs and their children. We also provide stockings for the community day center and other needs as they arise. It blesses our hearts more than we can say to provide a little hope and support to these families on their recovery journey. It is our honor to share Jimmy’s story and continue his legacy of loving others.
Jimmy Barnes Memorial Scholarship
The Jimmy Barnes Memorial Fund provides a scholarship to several outstanding and deserving seniors at North Lincoln High School. NLHS is located in Lincolnton, North Carolina. In 2005, Jimmy was in the very first graduating class of North Lincoln. It only seems fitting that we give back to the community by helping students to continue their higher education journey.
